Karna and Arjun are celestial enemy. I can't believe what my Hindi teacher taught me about Karna was wrong. Karna was a person who could inspire anyone to be generous and fight selflessly for a friend if at the cost of sacrificing his own life. But after listening to her logic I have changed my mind about Karna it is useless to be brave, generous if you are fighting for evil forces.

Arjuna was unanimously declared as the best warrior of his time. Also, it is known that he wanted to lay down his weapons against those who have wronged him knowing he could defeat those in front of him thus giving us the Srimad Bhagawad Gita. Imagine the compassion and empathy he must have and the absolute lack of ego to be willing to surrender a war purely because he could foresee the outcome and the toll. It is easy to accept a grey character as a more relatable person but we must remember that the Paramatma chose Arjun as his instrument and sided with him. Questioning Krishna’s choice is very arrogant and ignorant of us, no?

Draupadi was put on stake by Yuddhisthir(who had already lost himself to Duryodhan) on insistence of Shakuni. He was a Dasa already, he had no options but to follow the master's command. Secondly, putting Draupadi at stake ultimately helped them, and freed all from slavery. Had Draupadi not asked for boons, Pandavs & Draupadi had remained Dasa for lifelong. Yuddhisthir was playing the game only for his respect for Dhritrashtra. Yuddhisthir himself had criticised gambling multiple times. Draupadi herself said that Yuddhisthir was poor in Dyut.

Yes, right is right and wrong is wrong. Yudhishthir also did wrong by betting on his Wife. But if we see in an overall basis and for the sake of the society, Yudhishthir would have never organise an gambling game in order to humiliate and loot others. He would have never asked his brothers wife to disrobe before a whole sabha. He would never cheat in a game. But Duryodhan did. He did many sins even before that. If he can make his brother's wife a servant,ask her to sit on his lap, he can do that with anybody. And Karna was there supporting him in his sins. So, karna maybe be a hero and good due to his daanpunya, he may have a difficult life due to some injustice but ultimately to do sins is your choice. Sir, in all our telugu adaptations of Mahabharata, also Shakuni is shown to be physically challenged, and telugu adaptations are quite old when compared to BR Chopra’s version. I’m talking about THE old telugu films

After watching Mahabharat always thought Karna was very whiny person. He had loving parents . education from one of biggest teachers and finally good achievement as to become king. Everyone faces Obstacles and enemies in life but he kept keeping silly grudges throughout his life. Never had capacity to let go things even when he got more than what he wanted. Also wondered why people call him good when he was also among Duryodhan when they sexually harassed Draupadi. A good person would have tried to stop his friend from doing such a crime. But he encouraged. Now we know serial makers have presented a distorted version.

The main objection would be that Karan didn't realise what he did was wrong whereas pandavas realised it, there's a difference between someone making a comment of somebody's body vs someone handling you the body itself, to even compare krna and yudhistra in this case and blame the actions of duryodhan on krna would be unreasonable. Secondly what is repentence? Mere words? Literally I always have a doubt that how can Peoples can justify Karna. How can people of India can take side of Karna rather than Pandava. But I was damn sure that Karna was evil and he always stand with evil. He was bad character but people of India never ready to digest this line. Bhishma was the greatest krishna devotee. As a great warrior he challenged krishna and krishna had to break his promise he used his weapon ( Sudarshan Chakra ) Ultimately bhisham won as a great devotee. Krishna definitely wanted to prove that his devotee will win.
There is no such pledge made by Bheeshma in the Mahabharat . Bhagavan Himself was angry at Arjun's leniency on the 4th and 9th days of the battle ,and invoke Sudarshana chakra ,not a wheel .

The word came into existence through western graphic novel, and even in those stories the understanding of Right and wrong, dharma and adharma is not clear. For example The character of Batman is a confused warrior.these stories have very flawed writtings . Only the heroic characters in these stories are the Deadly heroes who seem like anti hero to westernized audience. Punisher is a hero , Rorshach(from watchman )is hero . Black adam is hero (he fights for his Homeland kandak).
The real heroic character in Batman's story is Red Hood, he actually understands the dharma of a Protector, a kstariya of their fictional city in a true sense, and he wants eliminate the problem(the joker ) from it's root so tends to remain becuz of the meaningless moral code of Rich boy Bruce Wayne . In fact all of his robins understands morality better than him. 😂

Karna knew Arjuna was his younger brother, still no issues in trying to kill him in Kurukshetra. Arjuna's enquiry about killing his relatives gave birth to the Bhagavad Gita. Karna was among the 6 that simultaneously attacked & killed the 16 year old Abhimanyu. Plotting to kill the pandavas alongwith Kunti in Lakshagraha, disrespecting Draupadi !! I think even his overzealous daanveer bhaav was to compensate his guilt for always doing the wrong things....
So u want to say that any bad person like karna can donet his life (kavach) to overcome this feeling or 4 out of 5 arrow to overcome. Or to leave his Vijay bow who can protect him from any arrow. First read Sanskrit Mahabharat not Hindi translation and then say something about this great character. There is a marathi novel named MRITUNJAY...in which Author Shivaji Sawant literary glorified Karna to such an extent that Pandavax and even Bhagwan Srikrishna seems culprits and grey infront of Karna....it's very big,very nicely written and it became too famous, almost every single person in Maharashtra read that....After that it's reference is taken in each and every serial...so naturally without reading authentic Mahabharata a fictional story is served...moreover Karna faced a lot in his lifetime, so obviously he got that sympathy....But he was in company of Duryodhana and Shakuni....he did horrible things
And same writer wrote Yugandher on the life of Shrikrushna, man you don't know what Karna and Shrikrushna was, both were having same abilities but they are showing two different destinies with same human abilities.... Also Karna was great at his place

In my opinion this is a highly biased discussion. A lot of facts about karna has not even been discussed here, here she is defaming him stating he lost from Drupad. Then how the hell he won from Drupad during Dijvijay yatra if he such a so called loser? That too without kavach and kundan? It's very easy to say karna got defeated by Chitrasen, and these guys didn't even discussed the fact that karna was highly high because he was drunk (Madira) and that time he didn't even take his Vijay Dhanus. Vijay dhanush has a potential that whosoever possesses it can't be defeated. At the same time Chitrasen also admitted he was a tuff worrior even when drunk. Moreover how the hell can you guys forget that during the Mahabharata battle when Arjun and Karna came across. Arjun had Hanuman on his ratha, when Arjun use to fire arrows on karna, karna's ratha was going 16 steps behind, but when karna fired arrows Arjun's ratha was going 3 step behind. Even that was praised so loudly by Krishna. When Arjuna asked why are you praising him. Krishna replied you have Hanuman who got your back which makes your ratha most strongest in this universe even then he is able to shift it 3 steps back. Talking about draupadi's point, he said her bad words because she insulted him stating him sutputra and rejecting her in swamwar, she could have simply denied why to insult? Even after all this, the way he is defamed by you all, why Arjun went to temple to apologise about his sin of killing his own brother? Why he got the title of "Daanvir". I'm glad this podcast is happening and the myth about Karn is being busted. I think much of the Karn as "poor unsung hero" started (or gained traction) after the immensely popular novel मृत्युंजय by Shivaji Sawant. It got translated in many languages and became popular everywhere. आचार्य सु ग शेवडे spoke many times about the truth of Karn story but the leftist found the Karn narrative very suitable to their propaganda and it has continued.

In the discussions, Bhishma used the term ardhrathi for him. Taking this as an insult Karna refused to fight under his banners and promised that he would fight with Arjun only after Bhishma falls.
Now one could argue that whether was it Bhishma who knew this reaction or from and simply provoked him, or was it natural. Learn some manners for starters before engaging in a debate. Karna was a person who could inspire anyone to be generous and fight selflessly for a friend if at the cost of sacrificing his own life. Arjuna was unanimously declared as the best warrior of his time. Also, it is known that he wanted to lay down his weapons against those who have wronged him knowing he could defeat those in front of him thus giving us the Srimad Bhagawad Gita. Imagine the compassion and empathy he must have and the absolute lack of ego to be willing to surrender a war purely because he could foresee the outcome and the toll.
It is easy to accept a grey character as a more relatable person but we must remember that the Paramatma chose Arjun as his instrument and sided with him. Questioning Krishna’s choice is very arrogant and ignorant of us, no?

After watching Mahabharat always thought Karna was very whiny person. He had loving parents . education from one of biggest teachers and finally good achievement as to become king. Everyone faces Obstacles and enemies in life but he kept keeping silly grudges throughout his life. Never had capacity to let go things even when he got more than what he wanted.
Also wondered why people call him good when he was also among Duryodhan when they sexually harassed Draupadi. A good person would have tried to stop his friend from doing such a crime. But he encouraged.
Now we know serial makers have presented a distorted version.

The main objection would be that Karan didn't realise what he did was wrong whereas pandavas realised it, there's a difference between someone making a comment of somebody's body vs someone handling you the body itself, to even compare krna and yudhistra in this case and blame the actions of duryodhan on krna would be unreasonable.
Secondly what is repentence? Mere words? Then karna also did that

Literally I always have a doubt that how can Peoples can justify Karna. How can people of India can take side of Karna rather than Pandava. Bhishma was the greatest krishna devotee. As a great warrior he challenged krishna and krishna had to break his promise he used his weapon ( Sudarshan Chakra ) Ultimately bhisham won as a great devotee. Krishna definitely wanted to prove that his devotee will win.
Krishna Did not break his promise, He Lifted the Wheel of Rath, not Sudarshana Chakra
There is no such pledge made by Bheeshma in the Mahabharat . Bhagavan Himself was angry at Arjun's leniency on the 4th and 9th days of the battle ,and invoke Sudarshana chakra ,not a wheel .

I think Karna is more antihero than a villain. But the greatest thing about Mahabharat is the grayness in each characters.
Anti hero means a Deadly hero who has more fire inside him

The word came into existence through western graphic novel, and even in those stories the understanding of Right and wrong, dharma and adharma is not clear. For example The character of Batman is a confused warrior.these stories have very flawed writtings . Only the heroic characters in these stories are the Deadly heroes who seem like anti hero to westernized audience. Punisher is a hero , Rorshach(from watchman )is hero . Black adam is hero (he fights for his Homeland kandak).
The real heroic character in Batman's story is Red Hood, he actually understands the dharma of a Protector, a kstariya of their fictional city in a true sense, and he wants eliminate the problem(the joker ) from it's root so tends to remain becuz of the meaningless moral code of Rich boy Bruce Wayne . In fact all of his robins understands morality better than him. 😂

There is a marathi novel named MRITUNJAY...in which Author Shivaji Sawant literary glorified Karna to such an extent that Pandavax and even Bhagwan Srikrishna seems culprits and grey infront of Karna....it's very big,very nicely written and it became too famous, almost every single person in Maharashtra read that....After that it's reference is taken in each and every serial...so naturally without reading authentic Mahabharata a fictional story is served...moreover Karna faced a lot in his lifetime, so obviously he got that sympathy....But he was in company of Duryodhana and Shakuni....he did horrible things

In my opinion this is a highly biased discussion. A lot of facts about karna has not even been discussed here, here she is defaming him stating he lost from Drupad. Then how the hell he won from Drupad during Dijvijay yatra if he such a so called loser? That too without kavach and kundan?
It's very easy to say karna got defeated by Chitrasen, and these guys didn't even discussed the fact that karna was highly high because he was drunk (Madira) and that time he didn't even take his Vijay Dhanus. Vijay dhanush has a potential that whosoever possesses it can't be defeated. At the same time Chitrasen also admitted he was a tuff worrior even when drunk.
Moreover how the hell can you guys forget that during the Mahabharata battle when Arjun and Karna came across. Arjun had Hanuman on his ratha, when Arjun use to fire arrows on karna, karna's ratha was going 16 steps behind, but when karna fired arrows Arjun's ratha was going 3 step behind. Even that was praised so loudly by Krishna. When Arjuna asked why are you praising him. Krishna replied you have Hanuman who got your back which makes your ratha most strongest in this universe even then he is able to shift it 3 steps back.
Talking about draupadi's point, he said her bad words because she insulted him stating him sutputra and rejecting her in swamwar, she could have simply denied why to insult?
Even after all this, the way he is defamed by you all, why Arjun went to temple to apologise about his sin of killing his own brother? Why he got the title of "Daanvir". Do you guys even consider yourself capable enough to do such a donation that can even take your life?

I'm glad this podcast is happening and the myth about Karn is being busted. I think much of the Karn as "poor unsung hero" started (or gained traction) after the immensely popular novel मृत्युंजय by Shivaji Sawant. It got translated in many languages and became popular everywhere. आचार्य सु ग शेवडे spoke many times about the truth of Karn story but the leftist found the Karn narrative very suitable to their propaganda and it has continued.
